# Stablecoin and Yield

> hyUSD and eHYUSD: Hylo's decentralized stablecoin and its yield-bearing Earn Pool token.

Hylo's decentralized stablecoin, backed by the collateral of every xAsset pool across all categories. Each collateral pool is split into a leverage token and a virtual stablecoin worth exactly \$1. hyUSD is backed 1:1 by the combined value of all virtual stablecoins, while xAssets absorb all collateral price movements to protect the peg.

The yield-bearing version of hyUSD. Depositing hyUSD into the [Earn Pool](/protocol-overview/earn-pool) mints eHYUSD, representing a pro rata share of the pool. Every epoch, yield harvested across all collateral pools (staking rewards and borrow rates) compounds into the pool, so eHYUSD continuously appreciates against hyUSD.
